Charles Manyuchi belongs to a breed of boxing warriors on the African continent. Molded in the crucible of the “Sweet Science and Pan Africanism”, Manyuchi emerges as a biblical “Prodigal Son” of African boxing fraternity.
It is this dimension style of his generational boxing and amazing fighting ability, this trait of his character, which his opponents have not been able to comprehend.
Charles is more than just a boxer, he creates pathways and focuses on cause, or as his devout Zimbabwean boxing fans would say, he has become the cause itself. And the cause has something to do with giving back to the people and his dignity well beyond symbols of nominal wealth and prosperity.
A few years ago after winning world titles told his fans and the boxing fraternity that Zimbabwean gains from the boxing fraternity were inadequate if it did not yield economic gains through “Sports Tourism”.
While it is fashionable to his lackluster image when strolling along the streets of his village home looking just like ordinary folks, little regard is given to the fact that the Zimbabwean boxing fraternity have hugely benefited from initiatives of the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board under Secretary General Lawrence Simbudzana that has promoted Zimbabwe’s sports tourism and that in return is translated to job creation and foreign currency earning.
What continues to confound Charles’s critics and boxing opponents alike – is that his passion for boxing is steeped in the economic self-empowerment which resonates with his cause of promoting his great nation. More than many other boxers, Charles Manyuchi draws great cheers across Zimbabweans.
Meanwhile, Charles Manyuchi is dwelling on one thing and one thing only; to add the vacant “WABA Supreme World Middleweight Title “ in his next promotion to be announced SOON!.
According to sources within the Charles Manyuchi Boxing Academy, this great WABA Supreme World Middleweight title will unify with other two world titles.
Beside this epic battle, there will be WABA Supreme World Super Bantamweight Title for boxer Tinashe Mwadziwana Vs. TBA and Evans Husavihwevhu Vs. TBA for the WABA All Africa Lightweight Title as mouthwatering bouts.
Zimbabweans in their thousands should embrace the cause that Chales Manyuchi has set forth to stir up its economic gains through “Sports Tourism” that could propel his great nation to the next level.
Similarly, the government of Zimbabwe should come forward to invest hugely in boxing by assisting the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board to achieve its goals.
Charles has proved that he is willing to live on the straight and narrow. WABA has already opened its loving arms and wrapped them up tightly and embraced him. Therefore it is now up to the Zimbabwean and their government to give him a sense of hope and direction!
