Tagoe to wait as WBO places Eliminator bout with Berinchyk on ice
The Ghanaian lightweight contender for the WBO title, Emmanuel Tagoe will have to wait a little while as the sanctioning body reverses any or all past, present and future rulings on champioship elmination contest in the division until further notice.
The sanctioning body by a resolution statement from the championship Committee released a statement suspending the elimination contest chiefly because of the COVID-19 pandemic which has placed restrictions on travel.
The statement sighted by boxinghana explains that it is highly unknown to the WBO when international boxers like Emmanuel Tagoe, who is currently in Ghana will be allowed entry to the United States or whether domestic fighters will be restricted from international travels. The resolution also captured that participants who are affected by the resolution can appeal the determination through the Complaint and Grievance Committee.

Tagoe (31-1, 15 KOs), 31 will be waiting in the shadows to receive positive news in the coming weeks regarding the travel restrictions. Meanwhile, the unification bout between unfied champion Vasily Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez is under consideration for October 3.
