Robert “Stopper” Quaye in a video after his defeat to the “Red Tiger” Ashie has made a request to everyone, after realizing that most of the fans that turned up on the fight night gave their support to his opponent George Ashie.
Reflecting on why he didn’t receive much support from the fans, he’s come to a conclusion that, his attitude and character was a major factor why he was not backed enough by the fans.
“We (Team Quaye) know that we’re outsiders coming to fight in Ghana, so everyone must come and support the Ghanaian (George Ashie). Because, when you look at the Arena, you’ll realize that everyone was supporting George Ashie. Because of my character, that’s why everyone was supporting George Ashie” The stopper explained.
The Jamestown native therefore made a plea to all for a turn around as regards to his character.
“I’ll plead with everyone to pray for me so that I’ll change from that character” pleaded Quaye.
The former undefeated Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) International Super Lightweight Champion suffered his first career defeat via a round 8 technical knockout by the veteran George Ashie at the Bukom Boxing Arena last Sunday in a fight that many connoisseurs dubbed the biggest career battle.
