The supposed purse bid between Richard Commey and IBF World lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr. has been postponed, Boxingghana.com can confirm.

The purse bid was billed to come off on March 26th at the IBF head quarters in Springfield, New Jersey, USA but it has been postponed.

Commey’s manager Michael Amoo-Bediako confirmed the new development to Boxingghana.com.

“The purse bid has been extended,” he said.

After Commey’s win over Alejandro Luna two weeks ago, the IBF ordered Easter to defend his belt against the Ghanaian and the two camps were asked to conclude negotiations before April 12th.

However, Commey’s camp notified the IBF that they are not ready to negotiate with Team Easter and they asked for immediate purse bid which was slated for March 26th but it has been postponed.

New date for the purse bid is yet to be communicated.

In September 2016, Easter got dropped by Commey but eked out a split decision to win the vacant title.
