The supposed rematch between Ghana’s Richard Commey and IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter from USA might not come on.
On Tuesday, news broke that Easter will unify with WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia and the two are set to close the deal for the clash.
The sanctioning bodies (WBC and IBF) have given Garcia-Easter the leeway to fight.
With Garcia-Easter unification, the hope of Commey to fight Easter is in limbo should the latter lose to Garcia.
Easter won the IBF strap by claiming a controversial split decision against Commey in September 2016.
The Ghanaian earned a shot at Easter’s title following his round six (6) win over Alejandro Luna last month.
