The bank roller of Don’s promotion Mr. Michael Yarboi Annan has thrown his weight behind Ghana’s Richard Commey to win the world title against Russian Isa Chaniev come Saturday February 2nd in Frisca, Texas.
“(Richard Commey) I think is a world champion and a true world champion.. He should have gotten this shot earlier (world title) but sometimes things do delay for a good course. I think he is going to win the world title for us (Ghana). Like i said in the press conference we have potentially five strong world title hopefuls that can win the world title next year.” Mr Michael Yarboi Annan said.
Commey has distinguished himself with hard work to earn a world title shot the second time after his controversial defeat against Robert Easter Junior some two years ago.
A second bite of the cherry sees the Jamestown native hot favourite against Chaniev.
But with Commey’s uncontestable credentials and arguably among the few most feared pugilist in the division, the Russian is in for a bout of his life against the hungry Ghanaian who is poised to fulfil a destiny.
Nazran resident, Isa Аskhabovich Chaniev (13- 1, 6 KOs) will clash gloves with Richard Oblitey Commey(27 – 2, 24 KOs) for the opportunity to become the new International Boxing Federation’s lightweight champion of the world after Miguel Angel Garcia Cortez, best known as Mikey Garcia vacated the title earlier on.
