The IBF has postponed the purse bid between Ghana’s Richard Commey and unified champion Mikey Garcia Boxingghana.com can report.
According to information gathered by Boxingghana.com, the new date for the purse is now September 13th.
After Mikey Garcia defeated Robert Easter Jr. to claim the IBF World lightweight belt, the IBF notified him of his mandatory defence against Richard Commey.
In the letter, the sanctioning body indicated that the two boxers must reach an agreement before August 30th or purse bid would be called.
The August 30th has expired and the IBF has given the reigning champion two weeks to reach an agreement with the challenger.
Richard Commey earned the right for IBF World lightweight strap after stopping Alejandro Luna in round six last March.
In order for the James Town native to stay active, he returned to the ring last month against Yardley Cruz which he won via round two TKO.
Mikey Garcia currently holds two titles, the IBF World lightweight and the WBC World lightweight belt.
