The father and former trainer of Isaac Dogboe, Paul Dogboe in a recent video has declared Adam Lopez as a walkover for his son and former WBO World Super Bantamweight champion Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe.
In the 2min 14sec video he recorded, he repeatedly taunted at Lopez with time in the past which Isaac Dogboe beat him “properly” about 2yrs ago in California.
“I can only speak on what I know about Adam Lopez. When I was training Isaac [Dogboe], we used to beat this kid hands down in California, we were in the same stable managed by Andy Zak so I don’t think Adam Lopez can cause any threat to Isaac unless he’s not prepared properly.” Paul said.
With the level at which Isaac Dogboe who nearly secured himself as a PPV icon, Paul Dogboe doesn’t think Lopez can match a top notch pugilist like his son
“Adam Lopez is not a world champion pedigree, I mean it is going to be a walkover for Isaac if he’s well prepared because Adam Lopez like I said, we used to beat this kid hands down 2 years ago in California when I used to train Isaac”.
Paul Dogboe believes this fight against Adam Lopez isn’t going to better his son but rather a step for Isaac to get going for better fights ahead in securing a title shot
“with me I mean I don’t even have to bother too much and this fight is not gonna add up to Isaac to becoming anything but I would say the only thing it can do is to just get some few rounds in for Isaac then he goes on to fight a big fight and get a title.”
Having said that, Paul believes it’s a fight to Lopez’s advantage to get him better even though he can’t face Dogboe
“But its going to be a good fight for Adam Lopez, you know that’s what I see, because this is just a kid we used to beat hands down, you know beat properly. I don’t see this kid like I said beating Isaac till he’s not well prepared so hey, we just have to pray for the kid and let him triumph.”
Paul in his conclusion admitted that, Mexican boxers are full of surprises and hence, asked for prayers for his son to triumph come fight night
“You know these Mexicans, you can’t predict them but like I said, we used to beat Adam Lopez properly in the gym in sparring times when we were in California so hey, if the kid [Dogboe] is well prepared, I think its going to be his night. So we just have to pray for the kid. Thank you.” The video ended.
Isaac Dogboe will this Saturday in Vegas battle it out with Adam Lopez on the card of WBA (Super) and IBF world bantam king Naoya Inoue against his mandatory challenger Michael Dasmarinas. We all at Boxing Ghana wish The Royal Storm Dogboe a big win this weekend.
