Ghana’s Rafael Mensah (31-0, 23 KOs) is set to battle Puerto Rico’s Alberto Machado (19-0,16 KOs) on May 5th, according to reports.
Mensah (WBA ranked number 2) will be challenging Machado for the latter’s WBA World super featherweight belt.
The clash will be on the undercard of the Gennady Golovkin-Canelo Alvarez rematch at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The WBA three weeks ago ordered the two camps to reach agreement or there will be purse bid.
However, it seems the two camps have reached an agreement and the clash is set for May 5th.
The clash will be Machado’s first defense of his belt – he won it in October 2017 when he stopped Jezreel Corrales.
