Jamel “Semper Fi” Herring will defend his crown against undefeated Shakur Stevenson
WBO junior lightweight world champion Jamel “Semper Fi” Herring (23-2, 11 KOs) will defend his crown against undefeated former featherweight world champion Shakur Stevenson (16-0, 8 KOs) TONIGHT at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Herring-Stevenson headlines a tripleheader that will air live on ESPN & ESPN Deportes (simulcast on ESPN+) at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT. Puerto Rican star Xander Zayas (10-0, 7 KOs) will look to bolster his Prospect of the Year candidacy with an impressive showing against Dan Karpency (9-3-1, 4 KOs) in a six-rounder at junior middleweight, while Nico Ali Walsh (1-0, 1 KOs), grandson of the “The Greatest,” will fight James Westley II (1-0) in a four-round middleweight special attraction.
Undercard action (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+) includes the return of recent U.S. Olympian Troy Isley (2-0, 1 KO) in a four-round middleweight bout against Nicholi Navarro (2-1, 2 KOs), featherweight prospect Haven Brady Jr. (3-0, 3 KOs) in a four-rounder against Roberto Negrete (3-0, 1 KO) and junior middleweight Evan “Yung Holy” Holyfield (7-0, 5 KOs), son of Evander Holyfield, in a six-rounder versus Charles Stanford (6-3, 3 KOs) .
