Ghana’s Isaac Dogboe will be making his first defence of his WBO World super bantamweight strap on August 25th against yet to be named opponent.

Dogboe won the belt after stopping then champion Jessie Magdaleno in round 11 last month in Philadelphia.

And Dogboe’s co-manager Ellis Quashigah in an interview with Citi Sports confirmed that the 23 year-old hard puncher will make his first defense of his strap on August 25th.

“For now, there is confirmation of a title defence on August 25 but we are not in the position to state the opponent because we have not signed yet signed the contract yet,” Quashigah said.

Dogboe’s is currently Ghana’s eighth World Champion after D.K Poison, Azumah Nelson, Nana Yaw Konadu, Ike Quartey, Alfred Kotey, Joseph Agbeko and Joshua Clottey.
