Lightweight prospect, Teofimo Lopez (14-0, 11 KO’s), has opened up about his fight with IBF World lightweight champion, Richard Commey.

The American hard hitter has revealed that he is mentally not ready to take on Commey.

Lopez speaking on Max Kellerman’s show on ESPN disclosed that he has some family issues he is solving.

He added that, until he solves those issues, there will not be a fight between him and Commey.

The former Olympian is currently the number one contender for Commey’s IBF belt.

Lopez secured the position after an unimpressive victory over Japan’s Masayoshi Nakatani on July 19, 2019.

Commey won the IBF World lightweight strap when he defeated Russia Isa Chaniev on February 2, 2019.

The Ghanaian stopped the silky Russian in just two rounds.

Commey made his first defense of his IBF belt after stopping former world champion, Rey Beltran, on June 28, 2019.

The James Town native produced one of his best performances as he stopped Beltran in round 8.
