Ike Quartey Slams Emmanuel Tagoe Despite TKO Win

Former WBA World welterweight champion, Ike Quartey, has taken a strong swipe at reigning IBO lightweight champion Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe despite the latter stopping Fernando David Saucedo in round 10 last Saturday at the Bukom Boxing Arena to defend his belt.

In the bout, Tagoe was seen showboating and also taunting his opponent from Argentina.

And according to Quartey, if Tagoe wants to become a World champion then he must be serious whenever he enters the ring.

“Did DK Poison, Azumah Nelson, Nana Yaw Konadu, Ike Quartey danced in the ring before,” Quartey quizzed in an interview with Hot FM.

“If Game Boy wants to be a World champion then he should be serious that is all.”

During the course of the fight, Quartey angrily went out of the Arena, in explaining why he did that, the former WBA World welterweight champion said:

“I did that because i was disappointed in the referee, after the referee stopped the fight the guy [Fernando Saucedo] said he wants to fight so why did the referee stop the fight.”

“The referee should have given the guy chance to fight, the referee gave him 8 counts and the guy said i want to fight so why did he stop the fight?, my only advise to Game Boy is if he wants to be a World champion then he must be serious.” Remarked the former world champion.
