“I don’t fear anyone in my weight class” – John Laryea

Ghana national featherweight champion, John Laryea also known as the ‘Expensive Boxer’ says boxing has changed his life and wants to become a world champion to change other lives.

Speaking to the media at the launch of his WBO Africa Featherweight Championship, the undefeated boxer with a record on 9 fight ans one draw said he does not fear any opponent in his weight class, and he is eager to reach the top and rule the division.

The son of a fisherman revealed that his education level is nothing to write about, but hopes to achieve much in boxing.

“Winning my next fight will propel me to greater heights, and I am ready for my next opponent. I don’t fear anyone in my weight class. Boxing has made me a star and I pray to become a super star” he told Yours Truly.

 

He thanked his coach, Carl Lokko of the Bronx Gym and Mr. Samuel Anim Addo, his manager, as well as boxing consultant Mr. Yoofi Boham and the vice president of the GBA, Dr. Henry Manly-Spain for guiding his career.

He also thanked Fight Ready Promotions and Bronx Boxing Promotions who are giving him the opportunity in the ring on July 17, 2021 to fight for the WBO title against Namibian Sebastianus Natanael.

The Namibian has 16 fights, won 14, lost two, but the gritty Ghanaian who is undefeated in 9 bouts has vowed to win and move on to become a world champion.

He said he wants to continue from where Roy Ankrah, Floyd Robertson, Attuquaye Clottey, D. K. Poison and Prof Azumah Nelson left.
