Tonight at the Oxford studios Ghana’s budding talent Abdul Omar will commence his debut fight against Australian Henry Garside  in the 60kg round of 32 at exactly 08:30 GMT in far away Australia.

A lot is expected from the young but matured Omar who competed in the men’s bantamweight event at the 2016 summer Olympics but was unfortunately defeated by one Alberto Melian of Argentina in the first round.

Since that defeat Omar has gone through a series of transformation and has improved so many aspects of his game.

He is now a smart and a calculated puncher who is technically very strong with good reflexes.

Omar is also a bronze medalist from the last Commonwealth Games in Glasgow Scotland two years.

He was one of only two sportsmen from Ghana to have won medals at the Glasgow Games.

The Ghanaian pugilist is now going for the ultimate and that is certainly the gold.

At the 62 kg division, another medal hopeful Abubakari Kwasi Quartey of Ghana will fight Merven Clair of Mauritius at the round of 32.

Boxingghana.com is wishing the two Ghanaian boxers all the best.

Make Ghana proud.
