Ghanaian duo of Benjamin Lamptey and Emmanuel Mensah lost their respective bouts against Nigeria opponents.
The fights came off last Sunday at the Indoor Sports Hall in Lagos.
Lamptey lost via unanimous decision to Rilwan Oladosu. The scorecard read, 99-92, 99-90 and 100-90.
Oladosu started the first half of the fight on a good note as he controlled the action but the Ghanaian upped his game as he piled pressure on the Nigerian.
The pressure from the Ghanaian wasn’t enough as the Nigerian defended his West Africa Boxing Union lightweight belt.
Another Ghanaian, Emmanuel Mensah, also failed to raise the flag of Ghanaian high as he lost via TKO in round 6 to Oto Joseph.
The fight was a 10-round contest but the Ghanaian couldn’t travel the scheduled rounds.
