The much anticipated event on Ghana Amateur Boxing’s Calender makes a return next week at the Sports Hall, Accra Sports Stadium from 12th July to 14th July, 2023.
The last event took place two years ago which was used to select individuals to represent Ghana at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022.
The communication released by the Ghana Boxing Federation in a letter signed by its Secretary General invites all persons of interest within the boxing space.
The National Individual Championship 2023 edition is expected to project boxers who will represent Ghana at the Olympic qualifiers and the next Africa Games in March 2024.
The invitation does not indicate the weight classes available for competition. However, Coach Ofori Asare, the National Boxing Coach of the Black Bombers revealed they will be competing in all 13 male weight classes and 12 for the ladies.
This program is significant because it will be the first edition for female boxers in Ghana to fight in a competitive event.
Charles Jojo Ephson, PRO of GBF revealed to boxinghana.com that the fight promotional materials will come out on Thursday, 6th of July, 2023.
