Ghana’s George ‘Red Tiger’ Ashie has moved into the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) rankings following his win over Michael Mokoena.
In the latest WBO rankings for the month of May, Ashie is now ranked 15th in the lightweight division.
Before, Ashie’s last month’s fight against Mokoena, the Ghanaian wasn’t ranked but after winning the fight to win the WBO interim Africa belt he has moved into the rankings.
Another Ghanaian ranked high by the WBO is Richard Commey – he is ranked number 10.
Last week, UAE based promotional firm MTK Global International signed Ashie.
