Gennady Golovkin vs Kamil Szeremeta fight analysis as they clash tonight

IBO and IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will finally return to the ring to defend his titles. This will be the first title defense for the Kazakh, who beat Sergiy Derevyanchenko to become the middleweight champion. However, he faces a tough task against undefeated polish fighter Kamil Szeremeta. So let’s analyze both fighters and see who will come out on top?

First, let’s look at ‘GGG’. Despite being 38-years-old, he is showing no signs of slowing down He is coming off two impressive victories after his close loss to Canelo Alvarez. His power is his biggest attribute, especially at middleweight. However, he also possesses various other qualities like great head movement, speed, and ring management.
Golovkin has experience on his side. He has fought 42 professional fights and won 40 of those; with 35 coming through knockouts. This is a testament to his extreme power for a smaller fighter. However, with age, he is not the same fighter. Furthermore, questions about his stamina and chin will also influence the fight.
Szeremeta on the other hand is coming off a fantastic first-round victory over Oscar Cortes. He has had 21 fights and not lost any; however, only 5 have come by way of knockout. Despite this, in his fight against Cortes, he showed desire and intent and walked his opponent down and got the stoppage.
The Pole has age on his side and could have the better tools for a long fight. And if he watched ‘Triple G’ against Steve Rolls, he would have noticed that Golovkin can be hurt with an early onslaught. So this could be something to keep in mind.

Our prediction for the Gennady Golovkin vs Kamil Szeremeta fight

Despite him being 38 years old, we think Golovkin will win this fight via TKO. The stoppage will come in the 7th or 8th round after ‘GGG’ steps on the gas and stamps his authority on the fight. We believe that Golovkin can weather the early onslaught from Szeremeta and then slowly get into gear just like he did against Steve Rolls.

However, the question of Golovkin’s chin still remains. And maybe the Pole can test out whether the Kazakh still has the same ability to absorb punches, as he did before. If that is the case, we could see Golovkin get beaten.
Despite this, it is too hard to look past the experience, speed, and skill of the champion. So even though Kamil Szeremeta will not be an easy fight for Gennady Golovkin, we think he will get the job done. Who do you think will come out on top?
