Former World champion, Genesis Servania, has called out WBO super bantamweight champion, Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe.

According to the Filipino, he is confident he can end the Ghanaian’s invincibility in the ring.

Servania (32-1, 15 KOs) is expected to challenge Dogboe (20-0, 14 KOs) when the Ghanaian makes his second world title defence on December 8 on the Vasyl Lomachenko-Jose Pedraza card at the Hulu Theatre at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Speaking after his round three knockout victory over Mexico’s Carlos Carlson on Friday, the Filipino boxer said of Dogboe: “I would love to fight him and I feel I can beat him.”

Servania had landed himself a shot at the WBO super bantamweight strap after Top Rank promoter, Bob Arum, declared that should the Filipino wins against Carlson, next in line would be Dogboe, who is expected to make a defence of the crown on December 8 in New York.

Dogboe could be ending the year on an impressive record having dispatched Cesar Juarez, Jessie Magdaleno and Hidenori Otake in knockout victories. He started the year on a high after defeating Mexican Cesar Juarez via a fifth round TKO on January 6 in Accra to win the WBO Interim super bantamweight title.

On April 28, the 24-year-old Ghanaian knocked out Magdaleno in the 11th round to win the WBO title before ensuring an emphatic first round stoppage over Japan’s Otake with a first round stoppage in Glendale, Arizona on August 25.

Servania, on the other hand, is undefeated in his last three fights with two knockout wins in 2018 over Jason Butar Butar and Carlos Carlson and will hope to make a significant impact against Dogboe when he gets his second shot at a world title.

Having lost his maiden world title shot to Oscar Valdez in a unanimous decision in 2017, Servania will have to work tirelessly against the hard-hitting Dogboe who has ended his last five bouts within the distance.
