GBA PRO Motivates Black Bombers after making donations to the team

The Public Relations Officer PRO of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Mr. Sammy Heywood Okine has presented branded tee shirts to the Black Bombers, the national boxing team who have qualified to represent Ghana at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Mr. Okine who is Ghana Country Director of African Sports Media Network and Deputy Communications Director of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has been an inspiration for many young sports men and women, and his gesture to the Black Bombers is to ensure that the qualified boxers dress uniformly.

He expressed that the Black Bombers need the support of all Ghanaians and as a senior sports journalist and member of the GOC Communications team, he feels it as a blessing to support the Black Bombers.

He said the three boxers can win medals or put up credible performance at the Tokyo Games.

He called on other sports enthusisats to motivate the qualified athletes and coaches to shine at the biggest sports festival in the world.

The three boxers who have sealed qualification to Japan are skipper Sulemanu Tetteh, Samuel Takyi and Shakur Samed.

Coach Dr. Ofori Asare thanked Mr. Okine who is also Vice President of the Pro Fighting Factory for his support for the boxers.

Mr. George Lamptey, President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) also commended Mr. Okine and wished other sports journalists would follow his example.

Mr. Okine, aka ‘General One’ is a former Deputy General Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), and associate editor of Boxing Ghana.
