GBA President Zwennes’ Prediction Comes True

The prediction of the president of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Peter Zwennes that Ghana will get a world boxing champion soon has come true with Isaac Dogboe claiming the WBO World Super Bantamweight title from Mexican Jessie Magdalena last Saturday.

Early this year, Peter Zwennes predicted that Isaac Dogboe and Richard Commey are going to rule the world.

He said the two boxers who are well known in the international rankings were capable of fighting the best boxers in the world and defeating them.

Dogboe’s win makes him the nineth Ghanaian world champion and the youngest. Below is the list of Ghana’s world champions:

Isaac Dogboe – 23 (WBO Jr featherweight)
Ike Quartey – 24 (WBA welterweight)
D.K. Poison -24 (WBC featherweight)
Nana Yaw Konadu – 25 (WBC super flyweight)
Alfred Kotey – 26 (WBO bantamweight)
Azumah Nelson – 26 (WBC featherweight)
Joseph Agbeko – 27 (IBF bantamweight)
Emmanuel Tagoe – 27 (IBO lightweight)
Joshua Clottey – 30 (IBF welterweight)
