The Ghana Boxing Authority after a long wait heads for polls to decide its next leaders for the next period and it has been tensed with many spearheading the race. It has always been a keenly contested election over the years with the former elected persons going through the ranks to understand what it takes to hold the position.

With the presidential race focused on Dr. Henry Manly-Spain and Mr. Abraham Kotei, it is evident that many are rooting for the current First Vice president of the GBA following his addition to the office he occupies.

The current GBA President Mr. Peter R. Zwennes Esq. was called to the bar in 1988 and specialized in international trade, civil litigation among others. Having worked with the current aspirant Dr. Henry Manly-Spain, it is evident that he would follow in the good steps of the predecessor should he be given the nord.

Elections in Ghana in all forms has shown various trends and as the Ghana Boxing Authority heads for the polls, many have started to question whether it will follow the same trend or if the GBA is going to give us another lesson with respect to voting.

Both presidential hopefuls have shared their aspirations should they be elected as the next Ghana Boxing Authority president with Dr. Henry Manly-Spain commanding the crowd.

After spelling out his plans for the authority, Dr. Manly-Spain visited the Black Bombers camp to fulfill his promise to the team with his donation to support the team while they journey to Tokyo for the Olympics.

As many voters cast their ballots based on the manifesto of the aspirants, many also cast their ballot based on who the crowd cheers for.

The people’s choice as seen through the process of this electioneering period has been Dr. Manly-Spain noting the acceptance of the electorates on numerous visits both to the boxing people and stakeholders.

But knowing elections to be a tricky game, we shall only know the victors at the end of the day.
