The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has called on stakeholders including boxers, managers, promoters, referees, match makers, bell men, agents, medics, ring marshals, ring announcers among others to immediately renew their licenses.
According to a statement signed by Mr. Patrick Johnson General Secretary of the GBA, existing licenses expired as at December 31st, 2020, therefore an urgent need to get a new one.
“As such all licensees are required to apply to the Ghana Boxing Authority for renewal for their licenses by submitting their application to the GBA Secretariat at the Bukom Boxing Arena for approval by the end of 31st March 2021.
“Any previous license holder who does not acquire a valid one issued or renewed by the GBA shall not be permitted to take part or officiate in any contest, promotion or event held under the jurisdiction of the GBA, ” the statement said.
It added that disqualified persons cannot also undertake all administrative functions of the GBA which includes the issuances of letters for foreign travels.
