Mickey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs) the WBC Lightweight Title holder set to face the IBF Lightweight Title holder Robert Easter Jnr (21-0, 14 KOs) in a unification bout.
The two sanctioning bodies has been notified and talks to making the fight a reality has already started.
Garcia won the WBC lightweight title on January 28, 2017 with an obliterating Knockout of Dejan Zlaticanin in round three (3).
He Later moved up to super lightweight division and handed a unanimous win over Adrien Broner for the WBC Super Lightweight Diamond belt in July 2017.
Garcia on 10th March 2018 clashed with Sergey Lipinet for the IBF Super Lightweight Title and won unanimously, abdicates the belt upon notice to the IBF and moves to the Lightweight division.
Easter Jnr. won the IBF Lightweight Title in a disputed split decision over Richard Commey.
He defended it successfully against Luis Cruz, Denis Shafikov and another controversial split decision against Javier Fortuna early this year.
Tuesday’s turn out of events means that Ghana’s Richard Commey,who happens to be the mandatory opponent of Easter Jnr for the IBF Lightweight title will have to wait for the results of Garcia and Easter Jnr clash.
