The Nationa Sports Authority Director, Professor Peter Twumasi visited the camp of Ghana contingent at the Tokyo Olympics village ahead of the tournament.

Prof. Twumasi on his bid to show the Ghanaian contingent of the support Ghanaians are showing to them got interactive with the team after which he expressed satisfaction of what he has witnessed with the various teams so far.

In an exclusive video shared with BoxinGhana.com, Prof. Twumasi stated, “I arrived here in Tokyo to come and support our boys in camp for this Olympic games. I think that Ghana is aware we’ve been able to qualify with 14 athletes in about five areas, boxing, athletics, judo, weightlifting and swimming, and these ones are all doing very well in camp.

“In fact today in particular, I came with my team for assessment of how far they have gone with their training especially when they were in pre-camping location and then moving also into the games village.

“But so far, we are very satisfied all of them have actually achieved what they really expected to have in training camp. We believe that as we move into the next week when the games proper will start, definitely they are going to deliver the results that Ghanaians are expecting.

“We continue to pray with them, we continue to give them all the technical advice and am very happy Mr. Aggrey, the Chef De Mission with his technical team had a meeting with them and not long ago I have also expressed to add my satisfaction with the boys and girls who are in camp and their preparation for the competition.

I think Tokyo 2020 which is held in 2021 is a very strange one because of the covid and all the others. We even saw at the ceremony where the whole stadium was empty.”

He wished all the teams well and promised all needed support will be made available to ensure they give their maximum output.”
