Ghana’s general captain and skipper of the Black Bombers after battling through Dominican opponent Marte de la Rosa Rodrigo to qualify to the round of 16 in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics aired his excitement in an exclusive video shared with BoxinGhana.com.
Sulemanu Tetteh is a Corporal with the Ghana Prison Service, very determined and selfless. His team have described him as funny to be with, yet very disciplined in all his lines of action.
Being assigned to lead the Ghanaian team, Sulemanu led by example by defeating Rose Rodrigo in the opener for team Ghana at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and his team are following suit.
In the exclusive video to BoxinGhana.com, Captain Sulemanu Tetteh said,
“Actually, I want to first of all thank almighty God who guide us from the beginning till today. During my fight too I want to thank all my fans who supported me, all the members of GOC, President Ben Nunoo Mensah and the Minister, I want to thank them all. Now I am going into my next fight, I am going to fight against Cuba, and I want to tell Ghanaians that they should not fear Cuban boxers, we too we are Ghanaian boxers. We can face them, and this is our time and I want to tell them that they should keep supporting me, and I will deliver it to them. This is our time; we have a history here and I want to tell Ghanaians that we are going to repeat the history.
I want to tell Ghanaians that, I am going to beat the Cuban boxer and its going to be another history to Ghana so they should watch me out. First, I want to thank acting General of Ghana Prison Service, Mr. Agyiri. Congratulations and I want to tell you that I will bring you a medal, an Olympic medal and I thank all my course mates, COS107 prison service and entire prison service. Thank you all.”
