So the only Duke in Ghana boxing, Duke Akuetteh ‘the terminator’ Micah is set for his second defence of his World Boxing Council (WBC)’s International bantamweight title come Saturday the 9th of June at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York City against American Thomas Snow.

But who really is Thomas Snow?

Thomas “K.O.” Snow is from Capitol Heights in Maryland in the United States. Born on 8th day of April 1981, Snow has fought 23 bouts, with an appreciable 19 victories 12 by way of KOs and 3 defeats.

Snow made his professional debut on November 5, 2005 with a first-round knockout of debutant Ronald Viera. Through his first seven fights Snow compiled seven wins and 5 first-round knockouts against suspect competition; five of the first seven opponents had never fought as pros before.

Snow’s eighth and ninth opponents had each won two fights, and his tenth opponent, Terrance Roy, had a record of 9-23.

Finally, in his eleventh professional fight, Snow carried a record of 10-0 into a fight with 8-0 Teon Kennedy; he was knocked out in the second round.

After an eleven month layoff, Snow returned to the ring with a majority decision win against 5-0 Willshaun Boxley. (credi:speedeletion)

Snow is southpaw with 81 rounds of boxing to his credit and a knockout percentage of 55. It must be reiterated that he is coming up against a proven fighter in every sense of the word.

The Ghanaian, Duke the ‘Terminator’ is such a class act in the ring. His swift convo and power combinations are such a delight to watch. Unassuming but certainly deadly on the counter.

The Jamestown native is undefeated in his 21 attempts and has almost perfect Knockouts percentage of 83 percent. Unlike Snow, Duke Micah’s last two bouts were against proven fighters; stopping the likes Jose Santos Gonzalez and Jonathan Aguillar is no mean feat. Not to mention his thriller against Mathew Chanda.

Age is certainly not on the side of the American challenger against a crack pugilist like Micah. Thomas Snow in his career span is yet to fight anybody an inch closer to the Ghanaian undefeated WBC International bantamweight titilist.

Make no mistake, Duke Akuetteh Micah is the man to watch going into the bout.
