World Boxing Organisation World Bantamweight titlist from the Philippines, John Riel Reponte Casimero, famed John Riel Casimero, alias Quadro Alas, is bullishly confident going past his Ghanaian nemesis Duke Micah, and predicts a possible quick work come fight night on Saturday 26, September 2020 at the Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
“I am very confident of winning and I need to end Micah immediately so we can target big fights against Inoue or Nery,” He stated in an interview.
When quizzed why he opted for the undefeated Duke Micah whom he considers relatively unknown in the division, the Philipino answered.
“While Micah may not ring a bell to many, the fight is equally important as facing Inoue or Nery at 122 pounds. That is why I don’t want to be complacent in my preparations.” He said.
Casimero lamented his agony of fighters avoiding his fire power hence his decision to give his Ghanaian opponent a chance.
“When Inoue stopped fighting, we looked for an opponent; we are ready to fight anyone and Luis Nery and I are still challenging on Instagram but they do not want to fight me.” Casimero revealed.
But the Ghanaian views the fight as an opportunity to write his name amongst Ghana and African boxing greats.
“I am absolutely delighted to be given this opportunity to fight Casimero. It has been a tough year, but my team of Uncle Andre, Keith, and Chris have really helped keep me strong and keep me focused for opportunities that may come my way.
“I have got to thank Keith Connolly as well as Andre Rozier for what he has done for my career and for getting me this opportunity on a huge PBC on Showtime Pay-Per-View. I have been working for this my whole career and I am confident I can win this fight and show the world who Duke Micah is.”
The fight is been promoted by Sampson Boxing – Sampson Lewkowicz, Lions Only Promotions – Jermell Charlo, TGB Promotions – Tom Brown, Thompson Boxing Promotions – Ken Thompson and is set to go live on Showtime Pay Per View.
