Trainer and father of Isaac Dogboe, Paul Dogboe, has apologized to WBO World super bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno over his ‘deportation’ comment.
Magdaleno will be making his second defense of his WBO strap against junior Dogboe on April 14th at the Mandalay Bay Event Cebter in Las Vegas.
And ahead of the fight, senior Dogboe jabbed Magdaleno stating that they will throw the champion to his homeland after snatching his title from him.
“We hope Magdaleno will not run like a chicken. We hope he makes the weight and comes in with no excuses because we are ready for him. We are ready to eat him like a chicken. We are focused, and our only mission is to devour him, eat the crazy chicken, throw him over the wall of Mexico and present the title to Donald Trump. Magdaleno will run when he sees Isaac,”said Paul.
However, experienced promoter Bob Arum who handles Magdaleno expressed his dissatisfaction over Paul’s comment.
“I condemn the intolerant rhetoric coming from Isaac Dogboe’s father regarding Jessie Magdaleno and advise him to apologize,” Arum intimated.
In a swift respond, Paul has apologized to Magdaleno for making such comment adding that he was just hyping the fight.
“I want to aplogized to the Mexicans about throwing Magdaleno over the wall,” Paul told said.
He continued,”It was just a comical talk, nothing personal, it was just to wake the Mexicans up to come and watch their champion get beat. I apologized if it was misinterpreted. I was only hyping the show.”
