Richard Commey’s manager, Michael Amoo-Bediako, has indicated that his charge’s next move will depend on the outcome of negotiations between WBC world lightweight champion Mikey Garcia and IBF world lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr.
Garcia and Easter are in negotiations for a unification fight- and per reports it it is likely the duo will fight on July 28th.
Commey is ranked no. 1 by the IBF in the lightweight division and he is mandatory for the Easter’s belt.
But the fight between Commey and Easter would have to wait due to the unification fight between Garcia and Easter.
And Bediako took to Twitter to reveal their next plan.
Now that @RichardCommey is ranked #1 and mandatory for the @IBFUSBAboxing lightweight title we await the outcome of negotiations between @mikeygarcia and @RobertEaster_Jr before we plot our next move. @ChrisGlover28 @BernieBahrmasel @BoxAfrica @BoxingGhana
