The seemingly standoff between Ghana’s ultimate sanctioning body, the Ghana Boxing Authority and BoxRec a private portal dedicated to holding updated records of professional and amateur boxers has compelled the fight between Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab and Muksini Swalehe changed to Nigeria.

The up-coming WBO Africa super featherweight title fight between Nigeria’s undefeated star Joshua Wahab and Tanzania’s Muksini Swalehe billed July 25, in Egbeda, Lagos was initially scheduled for the citadel of African boxing, Accra Ghana but had to be changed because there is still no correspondence from the Ghana Boxing Authority according to the Chief Executive officer of managerial giant StreetWise.

“It was unfortunate that we had to move the bout, but because there had been no communication from the GBA (Ghana Boxing Authority), as to when there would be a resolution to their dispute with BoxRec, we had no choice but to move the bout to Nigeria.” expressed Michael Amoo-Bediako Snr.

Earlier in the month, promotional syndicate, Ace Power Promotions, announced the cancellation of their July 10 card, dubbed “War Zone,” headlined by Joshua Wahab and Anthony Moloisane due to the seeming impasse between BoxRec and the GBA.

It appears that MediaWiki-based encyclopaedia of boxing and boxers and Ghana’s ultimate sanctioning outfit, GBA have an unresolved issues which seriously needs to be nipped in the bud.
