Ghana’s Amateur boxing team the Black Bombers moved to Cape Coast for further training after ending their four months non residential camping in Accra but the Black Bombers are now back this morning arranging for a trip to Nigeria.
According to sources close to boxingghana.com, the team had to abandoned their training due to scarcity of sparring partners in the city of Cape Coast.
But when boxingghana.com contacted Mr Saka Quaye, he thoroughly explained the situation
“We did not abandon our training nor preparations, but the fact of the matter is that there are none sparring partners for the boxers to train with over there in Cape Coast.”
Preparations are still On going and the boxers are almost battle ready for the commonwealth games.
We plan to go to Nigeria for the final preparations before we set off for the games.” He assured Mr Quaye.
Ghana has assembled some fantastic array of boxers for the competition to be staged in Australia.
The likes of Sulemanu Tetteh, Samuel Addo, Akimos Ampiah, Abdul Wahid Omar, Azumah Mohammed, Jessie Lartey, Abubakar Quartey, Muah Ramah Lawson, Major Suleman and Shakuul Samir are indeed some of the talented assembly of talents for the Commonwealth Games.
The Commonwealth Games popularly dubbed as the Gold Coast 2018 is will commence at Queensland, Australia between 4 and 15 April of next month.
