In an interview with Accra based radio station Hot FM, the captain of the blackstars Asamoah Gyan divulged his disapproval for a possible fight between Emmanuel Tagoe and Isaac Dogboe.
“Frankly, I don’t support that fight to come off, because the two boxers are raising the flag of Ghana high and I don’t think it will be right for them to fight.”
He stressed on the progression of both boxers and the fact that Dogboe has a clear path to the world title and therefore needless to get distracted.
“Dogboe has gotten the chance to fight for the world title so the two can’t fight, I don’t support it. Moreover they are not at the same weight class.” The blackstars captain emphasised.
He further reiterated “If the two boxers must fight, then Tagoe must come to super featherweight and I don’ think is right .”
The owner and bankroller of Baby Jet Promotions emphatically stated his ever willingness to promote the bout only if the good people of Ghana are genuinely in support of the clash.
“I will promote the fight only if Ghanaians are in support of it and I am confident of a victory for Tagoe.” Gyan remarked.
Meanwhile, the father of Isaac is all in favour of the possible clash predicting a 5th round knockout for his son.
