Ghana’s Joseph Agbeko has won the WBO Africa bantamweight belt by defeating Tanzania’s Frank Kilawabye via unanimous decision on Friday night in Aflao, Ghana.
It was a controversial win for the two-time World champion has many at ringside were not enthused with the the judges’ verdict.
The clash was Agbeko’s homecoming but he failed to make his hometown fans happy with a below par output.
According to reports gathered, the Ghanaian was dropped twice but the referee failed to count him.
With the win, Agbeko has improved his record to 34-5, (25 KOs), while Kilawabye current record stands at 15-1, (12 KOs).
