Wilder -Fury headed for a trilogy regardless of who wins February 22 rematch

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will clash in a rematch with lineal champion Tyson Fury at the MGM Grand Gardens Arena Las Vegas this Saturday February 22. But this will not be the last time the two will meet in the ring. Frank Warren the manager of Fury hinted of a trilogy clause when he spoke with BBC Radio 5 Live.
“The loser has 30 days to call on the rematch and that has to be accepted” Warren said.

Wilder and Fury first met in December 2018 at the Staples Center which many described the result as controversial but the two quickly called for a rematch.
Wilder-Fury ll was hinged on a two-fight clause for both boxers.

Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KOs), 34 took on Dominic Breazeale dispatched him in round one (1) and later crashed Luiz Ortiz with a devastating straight right in round seven (7). Fury
(29-0-1, 20 KOs), 31 also KOed Tom Schwarz in a round two and completed the clause with a very gruelling fight with Otto Wallin which ended in a unanimous decision for Fury but suffered a horrendous right eye cut. This fight will be arguably the biggest heavyweight fight in two decades anticipated to attract millions of viewer over the world through Pay-per-view and online.

“This is probably the most anticipated heavyweight title fight in the last 20 years,” Warren said. “It’s a fantastic fight. A big puncher against a consummate boxer.
“It’s a bit like Muhammad Ali v George Foreman years ago — similar styles.
“What’s important about this fight is that they are both at the top of their game. It’s not like the young guy fighting the old guy, passing on the baton. These guys are at the top of their game and it doesn’t get any better than this if you are a boxing fan.” Warren added.

Fury, also speaking with Sky Sport confirmed the rematch that there will be a rematch clause, one that will allow Saturday’s loser to call for a third fight.

Fury taunts Wilder saying that the money that comes with the fight is too tempting.

“I don’t lose!” he stated with conviction that he will be having a third fight with Wilder either way.
“I think the money is too big not to have it,” This is the prize fighting game and there is too much money in the pot for him not to want the rematch, even if he loses. I will be having a rematch either way. All I do is win – unless I get a draw” Fury added.

This fight promises a lot of drama having had both boxers promising knockout. Yes, I think the fight will not go through to full hall, there will be surprises, shocks and drama but in all Wilder looks slightly ahead of Fury. This throws Eddie Hearns wish to have a unification bout of the winner of Wilder-Fury ll with Anthony Joshua.
