What you should know about Alberto “el explosivo” Machado.
Tonight Ghana’s Rafael Mensah will clash gloves with the champion Alberto Josue Machado Becerril from Puerto Rico at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, USA.

At stake, the World Boxing Association World Super Featherweight title which the undefeated Puerto Rican won against Panamanian Jezzrel Corrales Gonzalez via an 8th round TKO in October last year.

This happens to be his first defence of his strap and the 27 year old has a lot of experience going into the bout.

He has 19 bouts to his credit with an incredible 16 knockouts.

Nicknamed “el Explosivo,” the southpaw has a nice CV going into the fight and his toughest fight in recent times was against American Carlos Demetrio Morales of the United states which he won via unanimous decision.

His penchant for Knockouts has earned him a percentage ratio of 84. His best fight was against Mexico’s Juan Jose Martinez in April of last year whom he dispatched in the first round with ease via a TKO.

Machado turned professional in 2012 and for 6 years, he has overcome all the challenges thrown his way. Mentions could be made of Orlando Rizo, Yardley Armenta Cruz, Miguel Angel Mendoza, Tyrone Luckey, Alvaro Ortiz and so on.

Machado can box and brawl at the same time depending on the opponent in question.

Rafael Mensah 

Rafael Mensah is relatively a local boxer who has an incredible fighting history of 31 fights with 23 knockouts which translates to (74%).

Nicknamed “Sweet Pea” His last victim was Martin Ahiadekey whom he dispatched in the fourth  round over eight contest.

Rafael, is a southpaw, very skillful and has some quick hands. He has acclimatized very well in the states and has a very good trainer.

His last three fights was against Edward Kambasi, Fatiou  Fassinou and Jonathan Yartey whom he dispatched in the eighth round via a TKO.

Though all his fights are against a relatively tougher but local boxers, Rafael has distinguished himself well.

This is really a close-to-call fight though the Ghanaian challenger is the underdog going into the bout.
