Boxing branding in Ghana has been something that has been lagging for sometime now until 29PhotoStudio, a Boxing photographer came into the scene to ensure he adds his knowledge in the field to ensure Ghana Boxing is properly projected graphically and beautiful enough to catch the eye of all who see.
Prior to the qualification of the Black Bombers to the Tokyo Olympic games, 29PhotoStudio as part of his contribution to the team and other boxers took the mantle on himself to take charge of photography during the team’s training sessions from the Accra Sports Stadium to the Bukom Boxing Arena Gym till they departed to the games.
29PhotoStudio further took to itself to promote female boxing as he started creating a brand for Sarah Apew, one of the finest female amateur boxers from the national team which many applauded.
Over a period, 29PhotoStudio has sublimed on his photography with the Black Bombers as has been known of him, so BoxinGhana.com got interactive with Mr. NiiOtoo Bruce-Tagoe, popularly known as DeMessenger, the brain behind 29PhotoStudio to find out what is holding him back and he disclosed,
“I love boxing and I have been doing boxing photography for a while, it is my passion, and I can give you photos that will instantly get you to love boxing but when you are not wanted in a particular corner, you need to step back and watch.
I choose to take pictures of the Black Bombers because I realized they are not seen on social media and lacking. We are at the age where professionalism is needed to also reach the heights. but after the Black Bombers last fight at the tournament, I was told to stay away from the Black Bomber.
“I do not have to argue over this but just step back, GBF never saw anything wrong when I was with the Black Bombers during their preparations to the Olympics until now. One Jojo Epson who said he is the PRO for the GBF texted to the Black Bombers whatsapp platform and I quote “29PhotoStudio please, I am taking you off our platform here and have also directed you to stay off the Black Bombers till further notice because of your destructive and divisive activities. Stay off. You meanwhile do Boxing but not the Black Bombers, okay.”
Mr. Bruce continued, “I was honestly surprised with his choice of words but had to stay off, I tried to contact him so he can explain why his choice of words and what warranted such but to no avail, I reached out to the leadership of the Ghana Boxing Federation but no response so I rest my case.”
For a journalist to be asked to stay off a particular team and its activities goes a long way to hamper good relations.
BoxinGhana.com will follow up with Jojo Epson whose choice of words as disclosed by 29PhotoStudio has a bearing on his profession and reputation. Watch this space for the follow up soon.
