Joshua Buatsi will make a return into the ring this Saturday 31, August 2019 at the O2 Arena, Greenwich, London against Canadian Ryan Ford who holds the World Boxing Council International Silver Light Heavy Title.
The Ghanaian- born British professional boxer, Joshua Buatsi, must overcome a dangerous customer in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada norm Ryan Kurtiss Allan Ford alias the ‘Real Deal’ on the undercard of Vasiliy Lomachenko versus Englishman Luke Campbell.
37 year old Ryan possesses a (16-4, 11 KOs) to 26 year old Buatsi’s (11-0, 9 KOs) and is a huge prospect in the light heavyweight division. Buatsi, the defending champion prepares to defend his World Boxing Association International Light Heavy Title he won in June via a TKO against Mexican Marco Antonio Periban.
The Ghanaian native is much aware of his early beginnings and carries the motherland in his fights as he wears the original Ghanaian made Kente print anytime he enters the square ring. In June, Buatsi tweeted
“The Orange print represents the royal Kente Cloth which is the traditional/national cloth of Ghana worn by several Ghanaian tribes. Proud to have represented my heritage on my US debut.”
When the spirit of a nation is behind you because you paid homage, then only God can stop you. We must always remember that Ghana is a great country with a boxing history we can be truly proud of, something Buatsi displays in his fights in terms of customs and costume.
Patriotism or national pride has been described as the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to a homeland and a sense of alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment. Indeed the boxing gods of Ghana and Africa have granted the young undoubted world title prospect with technique and tenacity and above all the sense of patriotism to reign and become the next big thing.
Boxers work hours in the gym to improve their craft because it’s a tough and demanding way to make a living and establish a career but when you are gifted and backed by a spirit of a nation, greatness is your definition.
By this, BoxingGhana wishes this fantastic pugilist Joshua Buatsi the very best in his fight with Canadian Ryan Ford, and a quick TKO.
