The world of boxing was getting ready to witness a clash in the Heavyweight division between Anthony Joshua and Jarell Miller few weeks ago. However, the scheduled bout was left in limbo after Miller failed series of drug tests when traces of outlawed GW1516, human growth hormone and EPO were found in his system.

This resulted in the cancellation of their important bout of which Anthony Joshua would be having his US debut with Jarell Miller on June 1 after The New York State Athletic Commission denied the Brooklyn-based heavyweight a boxing licence.

Following the failed tests, the 30year old boxer has been given a six-month suspension with ESPN reporting that WBA have told ‘Big Baby’ he will also be withdrawn from their rankings and he will now have to pay for his registration with the anti-doping agency VADA out of his own pocket.

Commenting on the six-month ban to Miller, Greg Cohen, his co-promoter believes this is in the right direction as many fans thinks the span is too short

“It’s appropriate, and we just look forward to moving on to bigger and better things in the future.

“I don’t think he has a choice. Certainly by way of this resolution, he’s required to, and I’m sure Jarrell will be compliant with the resolution.” Cohen stated.
He added “With this suspension, he can’t even apply [for a boxing licence] ‘till after the Sept. 19 deadline.” He expressed.
