Ghana’s Wasiru Mohammed is set to fight experienced German pugilist Bihes Barakat in Germany come Saturday, the 21st of September, at Samstak, Telekom Dome Bonn, in Germany.

Wasiru Mohammed, who recently made his return to the ring, is ready to make a mark in the world of boxing after his decisive round 5 knockout victory against Michael Akramah Tetteh, and is now set to build upon that momentum when he makes his German debut against the veteran Bihes Barakat.

The self-styled Gyata bi, which translates as the ‘Son of the Lion’, is still undefeated in 13 outings with an enviable knockout percentage ratio of 93%. He has only traveled the full distance of his fights, but once. Wasiru is a force to be reckoned with.

The Ghanaian held the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Global and the WBO Africa titles and was ranked as the sixth best in the world after making his debut in 2017.

In terms of fight experience, Wasiru has fought some of the best in the business and was a one-time sparring partner of former world champion Isaac Dogboe.

His biggest test is yet to come, and German pugilist Bihes Barakat presents the perfect challenge for this budding talent.

The 36-year-old Syrian-born German has only tasted defeat twice in his 30 career bouts. Bihes Barakat is a typical lightweight boxer and last recorded his latest victory on June 2nd against Venezuelan Cristian Avila (18-15-1,14KOs).

This international fight outside of Ghana is a major opportunity for Wasiru to elevate his career, and his manager, John Manfo, is confident in his ability to seize it.

“Wasiru Opponent is a seasoned pro. I see this fight as a massive test for Wasiru. This will be his debut International fight outside of Ghana. It’s a great opportunity to revive his career and aspirations to be successful, surpassing the levels he achieved with me and the team. This time around, he’s more mature and focused on improving with each fight, one fight at a time.

This fight in Germany I’ve brought to the table is a door opening opportunity which may lead to bigger and better things.” John Manfo, expressed when quizzed by Boxing Ghana’s Sammy Ofosuhene.

Let’s get ready for an epic showdown as Ghana’s Wasiru Mohammed gears up to take on Germany’s Bihes Barakat in an explosive matchup come September 21.
