WABA TIPS FORMER GHANAIAN STRONGMAN JERRY RAWLINGS ITS PATRON

Former Ghanaian strongman Jerry Rawlings has been chosen to be WABA’s Patron. The selection followed a long list of high level personalities from around the world but, former President Jerry Rawlings with deep interests and hobby in boxing came up on top.

The WABA President and Chairman of the Board Onesmo McBride met Rawlings alongside a title fight in northern Ghana last year and the two spoke of the need to encourage government’s sustainable programs to support the spot of boxing.

Rawlings would be presented with both the certificate and letter of appointment in his office in Ghana by the WABA’s Commissioner of Anglophone West Africa Otunola Bernard of Nigeria and WABA’s point man in Ghana former world champions Joseph Agbeko.

In another development, WABA is setting up both WABA Muaythai and WABA MMA in efforts to support more sportsmen in the wold. WABA Muaythai would be based in Asia Pacific and would be under the supervision of WABA Asian Pacific Representative Sir Antonio Pino Pesons of the Philippines.

WABA MMA will be based in Cape Town South Africa and would be under the supervision of WABA Commissioner for South Africa region (SADC) Steve Kalakoda respectively., Arrangements are been made to unveil the both Muaythai and MMA accordingly!

Meanwhile, WABA has listed the support of Lou Pillukker to provide consultancy to WABA conventions and training workshops. Prilukker with great experiences in organizational matters worked for IBF for 19 years, as well as the ABC and a number of other sports organizations.

Prilukker, also has a stint in South Africa South Africa for 6 week, 16 city Temptations and Manhattans concert tour that he co-promoted, setting up hotel rooms, food plans and performance venues. Lou will wok with both Sherwin Enoch and Joe Maro who are in charge with WABA Conventions and Workshops arrangements.
