The coach of Vincent Mbilinyi is so confident of his boxer’s chances against Ghana’s “stopper” Robert Quaye ahead of their boxing day bout scheduled to take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra- Ghana.
In an interview at the Kotoka International Airport yesterday, James Nsangi is predicting a knockout against Robert Quaye.
“What I am saying is history has a way of repeating itself especially when you are fighting in a foreign land, so we are prepared for anything…when the opportunity presents itself, we will definitely go for a knockout.” He said.
The Tanzanian boxer Vincent A. Mbilinyi was not so confident with BoxingGhana’s Samuel Ofosuhene’s tough questions as was his protege.
“I’m not predicting a knockout, what I can say is he has never faced a boxer like me as well…So I want everybody to come watch the fight. Know I am going to win the hearts of Ghanaian’ s for them to support me. So I entreat everybody to come watch two African brothers fighting as one.” Mbilinyi told BoxingGhana.com
On the other hand, his coach kept talking big of his protege’s answers.
“We did not come to Ghana for tourism, we came to take the title. They call him stopper but we are going to stop him.” The coach confidently stated.
Mbilinyi currently possesses the Tanzania Professional Boxing Commission Lightweight Title which he secured in 2016 against Adam Mrisho (11-2, 7KOs) over ten rounds.
With his 14 professional bouts so far chalked, he can only boast of a 41 percentage knockout ratio culminating into 10 victories, 3 draws, and one defeat in semantics.
He comes up against Ghana’s current Super Lightweight National Champion Robert ‘The Stopper’ Quaye on boxing day the 26 December.
If the big talks are anything to measure, then this is a fight set for the gods.
