United Boxing Coaches Thank GBA For Covid-19 Relief Items

The United Boxing Coaches Association of Ghana have expressed gratitude to the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) and all companies aa well as individual who have donated food items to the boxing gyms in the country.

Rashid Williams aka Believer a top official of the coaches association said they are happy and commend the president ans executive of the GBA.

The items were presented by Lawyer Peter Zwennes, president of the GBA who praised the coaches for comporting themselves well together with their boxers during the Covid-19 pandemic lock down period.

He warned that the disease is very real, so the coaches must abide by the safety protocols, and handle their boxers very well.

He also commended the media who have been covering and reporting positively about Ghana Boxing.

President Lawyer Peter Zwennes presented assorted food stuffs like rice, cooking oil, beverages, milk and many other food stuffs worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the various gyms across the country.

The COVID-19 scare has had heavy ramifications on every activity world wide forcing countries to close their borders to protect their nationals.

The Government of Ghana’s subsequent announcement on restrictions and ban on all contact sports to help trace and treat contacts of contracted persons rendered the business of boxing dormant. This affected trainers, boxers, managers and promoters as well other auxiliary services in the industry and put enormous pressure on the regulator (GBA) to support boxers during this period. Therefore the GBA accessing how bad the pandemic has affected the industry, responded to calls for it to support boxers and gyms to go through these hard times.

Other coaches who were present, Carl Lokko, Charles Quartey, Lartequaye Lartey and Eben Adjei hailed the GBA and wished that such gestures could happen frequently.
