UBO Champion Joseph Commey pleads with fans to desist from hooliganism

Joseph Commey and Coach Ebenezer Adjei aka Killer have appealed to their fans and supporters to be disciplined and not get involved in hooliganism and unwarranted fights with opponent’s fans after boxing bouts.

They expressed the displeasure on Omashi TV last Friday as they were not enthused over what occurred at Ga Mashie after Commey won against Richmond Ashelley in an exciting duel for the UBO Lightweight title.

Joseph Commey who won silver at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and gold at the 2023 African Games was a star also at the IBA special tournament in Ethiopia which he won, so he had the opportunity to go in for a title bout in his first professional encounter and he impressed the fans.

Coach Ebenezer Adjei said boxing is their profession and what’s gives them business and entertainment so they should not tarnish the image of Ghana Boxing.

He said if those fighting are ready they can come and train as boxers.

According to him.the secret of Black Panthers Gym is training and the desire to succeed which he imparted on Ben Ankrah to defeat Stephen Coffie of the Bronx Gym on the. Ayitey Powers bill.

Meanwhile. Joseph Commey has hinted that the UBO title is to ginger him for bigger achievements. He thanked Box Office Promotions for the chance to become one of the youngest champions in the world.

“This is just to pave the way. My target is the bigger titles, especially the WBC belt. and I will train hard to get to my target” he expressed.

Joseph Commey dedicated his title to the coach and members of the Black Panthers Gym at Jamestown.

He noted that since he was five years old. Coach Killers has been training him and he loves the way he motivates them and inspires young boxers.

Commey who is also called Jaguar said the coach gave him the name so that he does not joke over his prey.

He named Ryan Garcia as his best boxer and saw the fight encounter with Ashelley as his toughest contest because it was a professional show and it was very serious business.

New WIBF Champion Abigail Quartey was also on the programme and she said revealed that her best us yet to come.

She also dedicated her win to Coach Ebenezer Adjei because he is the brain behind her achievements.

Naa Naa Yarley Achia Bronie 1popularly called Yarkor Annan aka ‘Yarkor Chavez’ the trail blazer of female professional boxing in Ghana was also at the studio to congratulate and bless her.

She advised female boxers to be focused and train hard to achieve their hearts desires.
