Tyson Fury professes love for Las Vegas before bout with Tom Schwarz

Tyson Fury is fast winning the hearts of American boxing public with his story, crusade against mental health problems and brand ahead of his blockbuster encounter with fellow undefeated Tom Schwarz at the MGM Grand, Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. USA.

The self styled Gypsy King took the opportunity to finally answer why he is in Las Vegas after he swore never to fight there.

“Why am I in Las Vegas fighting? I want to help. I want to help people reach for something.”

“I was down and out. Even my family thought I was finished, but I dusted myself off and got back on the road.”

“I have been heavyweight champion of the world, I’ve come back from nothing. Everything I do now is a bonus. I’m actually quite surprised. It is quite humbling.”

“Here we are in Las Vegas, MGM Grand, all the big fights happen here, seeing your face up on all the movie screens around the Strip is incredible.”

Answering why there is so much interest in him from the United States boxing public, he responded saying:

“The fight with Deontay Wilder helped with my profile in the US but now this is the biggest fight of my life.”

I got a good reception from the Las Vegas people. It has been fantastic.

“I’m here to put on a show and I’m the newest show in town. I’m the hottest show in town – literally.”

On mental health awareness crusade, the Lineal heavyweight undefeated Champion added

“I wanted to prove to people that there is a way back.”

“I look to inspire people to better their lives. If I can do it then anyone can, as I am just a normal bloke.”

Owner of Top Rank, Bob Arum, heaped praises on the Brit, and likened him to former boxing greats in Mohammed Ali and George Foreman.

“I recognized a larger-than-life character who reminded me of Ali and Foreman, both of whom I promoted,
Tyson’s going to lead this sport into a new dimension, just the way Ali did in his time, and then later George.” The legendary promoter and businessman, Arum expressed.
