The Ghanaian national super bantamweight champions, Theophilus Tetteh has promised to annex an African title very soon. The young, swift, sleeky and hard puncher was beaming with swag and confidence when Boxinghana.com caught up with him at the “Discipline Gym” were is trains.
“We are back here in the gym, preparing to face our next hurdle to becoming an African champion and then later to conquer the world” Tetteh said.
Tetteh (13-1, 11KOs), 24, has had 70 rounds of boxing winning 11 by way of knockout with a loss after his debut fight with Prince “Octopus” Dzanie.
The Ghanaian bantamweight and super bantamweight divisions is one of the hottest divisions which has seen a lot of Ghanaian boxers moving on from national champions to becoming World conquerors. Despite ruling the national super bantamweight weight division, Tetteh is ranked number four (4) behind Wasiru Mohammed, Prince Dzanie and Isaac Sackey who are ranked 1, 2 and 3 respectively in the national super bantamweight ranking.
“The COVID-19 pandemic got into our way and slowed everything. We are focused and have our eyes on becoming African champion pretty shortly” Tetteh expressed.
Theophilus Tetteh dispatched Joshua Owusu in an electrifying round 3 of his second defence for the national super bantamweight title on February 1 at the Old Kingway building, Accra. Tetteh who started his boxing career from the Bukom gym at age twelve (12) but became a Pro after moving to the Discipline gym believes that he is just ready to take on any boxer in his division because that is what he does and nothing will stop him from becoming the world champion he is destined for.
