Ghana’s super welterweight prospect Patrick Allotey (41-4, 31KOs) after being inactive for over a year now is set to shake off ring rust against his Tanzanian nemesis Hamisi Maya (13-3, 11KOs) for the WBO Africa Super Welterweight title at the Idrowhyt Events Centre, Akokofoto, Dansoman, Accra on March 26, 2022.

The self styled ‘Sweet Arrow’ last fought on 26th December, 2020 emerging as the victor over Victus Kemavor via a round 2 TKO.

In a quest to set the ball rolling, the Ghanaian must overcome his Tanzania counterpart come fight night in order to win the WBO Africa strap.

Patrick Allotey’s opponent on the night, Hamisi ‘Hitman the Lion Heart’ Maya is a young Tanzanian pugilist, twenty four years old (24yrs), who is yet to travel a 12 rounder bout despite having fought 17 professional bouts in his career.

Despite his inexperienced compared to Allotey who’s had 45 Pro fights with a superb KO ratio of 68.89%, Hamisi Maya has an equally good KO ratio of 64.7% over his 17 pro fight record.

The odds are against the Tanzanian southpaw who’s about to have his first feel of a regional (Africa) title bout. The bout on paper looks like an easy match for the former holder of the WBO Africa Super Welter Title, Patrick Allotey, but in boxing, just one punch can hand you a KO defeat.
