Fast rising super star of the squared circle and WBO Africa interim Super Lightweight Titlist Robert ‘the Stopper’ Quaye is set to make a comeback against the regular Congolese champion Marios Matamba on May 10 in Ghana at a yet to be announced venue.

The hugely anticipated showdown between the champion and the interim champion to decide the best in Africa is hundred percent confirmed according to the Chief Executive Officer of the promotional hub.

“Yes, we coming back on the 10th May, arrangements are on going.”
CEO Michael Nii Yarboi Annan told BoxingGhana.Com.

Robert Quaye (17-0,14 KOs) dispatched his opponent Vincent Mbilinyi via a round one TKO under three minutes inside the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra on Boxing Day in 2018 to set up a thrilling encounter against Matamba (9-0, 7KOs).

A lot is at stake in this battle as both parties were prepared to promote the bout in their native country on the same terms and purse.

“The bout is coming to Ghana. It comes with a big purse…They (team Matamba) were prepared to host us on the 16 of June on the same terms.”

He further encouraged corporate Ghana to support events like these and entreated stakeholders to buy tickets instead of asking for free since it is the only way to improve the sport.

“Yea this is where we need corporate Ghana’s support and the fans must learn to buy tickets to watch a bout.

Industry players must equally support what we doing by buying tickets.” He stated.
