Today is the Birthday of young Ghanaian Super Heavyweight amateur, Joseph Antwi. The heavy puncher turns 19 years today. He has been reflecting on his progress in the sport since 2020.
Joseph Antwi has disclosed that he is proud of his achievements in the sports so far. However, he believes that he should have reached further, at least qualified to the elite national team the Black Bombers.
Joseph is a final year student of Cubs Senior High School studying Visual Arts.
In 2021, Joseph Antwi participated in the GABA Novice Tournament, coming out with a silver and won Gold in the Youth category of the GABA BooksB4Hooks.
Joseph made his debut at the national level this year during the National Individual Championship losing out in the round of 8.
Reflecting on his performance, he said
“I was more active than my previous fights, but I still have to work on improving my combinations, after the fight I watched my performance and I saw that if I did more 1,2, 3 I would have won.”
Joseph has resumed training after the tournament, working to improve his style. He’s also working hard in school as this is his final year.
“I want to assure my fans that I am working hard and building my skills. The next exposure I get I will make Ghanaians proud.
“My role model is Mike Tyson, I want to be a world Champion.”
